Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is professionally known as Aurora and occasionally stylized using uppercase letters as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 receiving rave reviews from music blogs as well as from the media. Half the World Away from Oasis was released by the group Oasis was recorded for an ad campaign for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is the Nat King Cole cover. Katy Perry shared a tweet in which Perry made a splash with her track Runaway. Celebrate the special occasion. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding a piano hidden in her attic, and becoming fascinated with the sound it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to use music for development of her own, not to earn money or to pursue an interest. To achieve this she wrote her first new compositions. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Bjork for being among her inspirations. To counter her mother's advice that her children ought not to aim at achieving fame through their songwriting skills, she instead be aware of the significance of them as well as their contribution to society. She began playing the piano at the age of six, and began creating music when she was nine. It was not until she turned 14 when she shared her story with her parents. The dream was never to become Aurora. Aurora says she loves to compose music. According to her, she believes that music can help anyone feel better.
